Charity Fundraiser
The Gifted are seeking a part time Charity Fundraiser on a remote, flexible basis.
Number of hours: 40 hours a month, days and hours flexible but to be agreed prior to start.
Location: Remote, with meetings held occasionally at our office in Cheshunt. You will ideally be based in Herts/Essex/Enfield area.
Contract Type: 1 year fixed term contract (PAYE)
Rate: ÂŁ25 an hour

Background
The Gifted are a charity focusing on children and young people who are affected by disadvantage. This includes those in care, leaving care or custody, at risk of exclusion, young parents, survivors and those experiencing domestic abuse or sexual exploitation, and those at risk of offending, exclusion or sexual exploitation, as well as those young people who are showing signs that they are not reaching their full potential due to self esteem and self confidence issues. We deliver a range of programmes in schools and colleges.
Job Purpose
Reporting to the Board of Trustee Directors, the Charity Fundraiser will support The Gifted in achieving its annual fundraising target by securing new and maintaining existing small and corporate business funding. To be successful in this post you will need to have proven experience in a same or similar role.Â

Main Responsibilities
Fundraising
- To create and maintain a database of small businesses and corporate foundations
- Securing new funding
- Contact and build relationships with small businesses and corporate foundations with the aim of obtaining financial funding and non financial commitments (e.g mentoring) from themÂ
- Ensure that all approaches are researched, developed and presented to the highest standard to ensure the maximum possibility of obtaining funding/ non financial commitments.
- Ensure that all approaches are followed up and documented with next steps
- Ensure relationships are maintained with funders and potential funders
- Work with the Partnership and Development Manager to engage the community in fundraisingÂ
- Work closely with the Board of Trustees to ensure that targeted funding is secured
Communications
- Ensure that all fundraising queries are responded to quickly
- Build effective relationships with key funders
- Present the organisation and its work clearly and effectively to all funders
- Support the creation of engaging marketing material and the Annual Report
PartnershipsÂ
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders representing and promoting the Gifted in a positive and professional way
- Identifying and following up partnership opportunitiesÂ
General
- Work with the Operations Manager to develop useful materials that will support with fundraising, such as impact reports
- To represent The Gifted at meetings and conduct all work in a way which reflects the aims and principles of The Gifted.Â
- To abide by The Gifted’s policies
- To attend team meetings at the Gifted and present updates on the new funding received and gain insights that can be used on bids and also feedback to team to insights from funders to allow the Gifted to continually evolve
- Undertake other duties as reasonably requested by your line manager or Trustees
