The Fatherhood Project
Research shows that in terms of a child’s wellbeing, the love and care of a father is just as important as that from a mother.
Parenting is also said to be one of the hardest jobs in the world, and we could all do with a little bit of support sometimes to try to be the best parent we can be, while keeping the balance of a social life, community and a sense of who we are.
The Fatherhood Project was developed to enable fathers to come together and create a supportive space and network. It took place weekly through live online shows and in-person meet ups at T On The Green.
Aimed at fathers with complex lives living in Tottenham and Edmonton, this project created a support network for fathers – a service that didn’t previously exists – to increase social connections, create a sense of community and reduce isolation, through enabling them to learn new skills, gain confidence, and raise their aspirations to support them in overcoming barriers.
This project ended in September 2022, and was superseded by Parent Plug In.
