Increase confidence & raise aspirations with our Butterfly Project.
The Butterfly Project is a six-week programme, primarily aimed at young women and girls aged 11-18 years, and designed to:
- Increase confidence
- Raise aspirations
- Develop a sense of community
This project is delivered both online and face-to-face in schools and community settings.
One-to-one mentoring is also available to individuals who are referred to our programmes by our community partners.
There are lots of reasons why a young person would benefit from taking part in the Butterfly Project. They could be experiencing anxiety, self-confidence issues or just need some extra support.
There is also an extended version of this course available for those with more complex needs. To find out more about Butterfly Extra, click here.

Butterfly Digital
Since the pandemic, we have launched a digital version of The Butterfly Project, providing a space for girls and young women to work through the programme in their own time and at their own pace.
There are options to add on 1-2-1 sessions, plus small group sessions (via Zoom) and check-in points for the participants.
If you’re not based in Hertfordshire, Essex or London, it’s a great way for you to still be able take part.
Also, if you’re a young person who is currently not attending school and would like to work at your own pace, you can join Butterfly Digital.
Our Impact
Since 2012, we have engaged with over 7000 beneficiaries. Our initiatives have included confidence-building courses, 1-2-1 mentoring, community drop-ins, media and creative projects, peer education, and family support.
After taking part in one of our projects, 95 of participants said they had learned a new skill and 90% said that they now believe they can achieve their goals.
