Sessional Project Worker

The Gifted operates in Enfield, East Hertfordshire and West Essex areas. Through coaching and development, this role enables young people to reach their full potential. It is a thoroughly rewarding post and we ask for a small amount of commitment, typically up to 15 hours per week. This is a paid role starting from £12 per hour, and going up to £16 per hour once training is completed.

The Gifted charity has been supporting young people to unlock their potential, build confidence and skills, and raise their aspirations using interactive workshops, technology and podcasting since 2013. We focus on children and young people who are affected by disadvantage. Our projects and approach help children and young people develop key skills that they will need for the future.

Sessional project workers support young people in their development and growth journeys. By coaching and facilitating, you play a key role in enabling young people to develop and build mindsets and resilience that will carry them forward. During engaging in-person sessions, you will help create lightbulb moments, shape their thinking and stimulate their minds to grow and thrive. Full training is provided so that you will have the key skills to deliver the sessions, and you will be working as part of a team of session workers on each project. The next set of projects begin in September.

We are looking for great communicators with the passion to confidently engage with young people. Experience in working with young people, particularly those who have experienced disadvantage, is desirable, but not essential.

It is important you are able to travel to the areas we cover, so ideally you will have a full driving licence with access to a vehicle.

As part of safer recruitment, an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references will be obtained prior to commencing this post.
