The Fatherhood

Research shows that in terms of a child’s wellbeing, the love and care of a father is just as important as that from a mother. Parenting is also said to be one of the hardest jobs in the world, and we could all do with a little bit of support sometimes to try to be the best parent we can be, while keeping the balance of a social life, community and a sense of who we are.

The Fatherhood enables fathers to come together to create a supportive space and network. Taking place through weekly meet ups, the sessions involve a variety of activities – based on what the participants want to do – which could be anything from football sessions, PS4 evenings, DJ classes to creating a regular podcast.

Aimed at fathers with complex lives living in Tottenham and Edmonton, this project will create a support network for fathers – a service that doesn’t currently exists – to increase social connections, create a sense of community and reduce isolation, through enabling them to learn new skills, gain confidence, and raise their aspirations to support them in overcoming barriers.
